American roots troubadour Pokey LaFarge has returned with a fresh dispatch from the road, unveiling his new single and music video, “Pickup Truck,” now streaming across all major digital platforms.
The track is drawn from LaFarge’s forthcoming solo EP, Travelin’ with Pokey LaFarge: Voice and Guitar Vol. I, the first release on his newly formed imprint, Boxer Boy Records. Coinciding with the single’s release, a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl EP is available now exclusively via pokeylafarge.net.
The six-song collection finds LaFarge in a stripped-down, intimate setting, presenting his songs in their purest form: just voice and guitar. The EP was produced by LaFarge himself and recorded and mixed by engineer Colin Lester Fleming at The Great Northern Sound Society in Parsonsfield, Maine.
Travelin’ with Pokey LaFarge: Voice and Guitar Vol. I is scheduled for physical release on January 23, 2026, with a wider digital release to follow on February 13, 2026.
In addition to “Pickup Truck,” the EP’s debut single, “Ain’t No Grave,” featuring guest vocalist Addie Hamilton, is also available now on all streaming platforms.
With the launch of Boxer Boy Records, LaFarge is taking a hands-on approach to curating and releasing his own work, ushering in a new era of independence for the veteran songwriter while continuing to explore the roots traditions that have defined his career.
