NOi!SE RELEASE “ON AND ON” THROUGH PIRATES PRESS RECORDS

Streetpunk outfit NOi!SE has issued ‘On and On’, a full-length collection drawing together singles, B-sides, split 7-inch tracks, and several previously unreleased recordings. The release arrives via Pirates Press Records, longtime collaborators of the group. With a limited release of color vinyl, which includes Oynx Marble, Bloodshot Marble and Blood Red available now at piratespressrecords.com.

The album serves as a companion to the band’s earlier collection, ‘Pushing On’ and marks the close of a chapter in NOi!SE’s history. On and On represents the final release featuring the lineup of Nate, Jesse, Kenny, and Matt, assembling material recorded over a four-year period and clearing the band’s archives ahead of future recordings with a new configuration.

The songs were written and recorded during separate sessions and reflect a range of concerns addressed by the band during that time. Lead singer and principal songwriter Matt Henson described the group’s approach as an effort “to use honest, anthemic music as a vehicle for social commentary.”

Several tracks take direct aim at contemporary issues. “Mass Apathy” was written in response to the continuing epidemic of school shootings in the United States, while “Price We Pay” addresses the nation’s standing as the world’s leading jailer. Both songs, the band says, are intended to prompt reflection rather than provide easy answers.

One recording, “Liam,” departs from public themes in favor of a deeply personal message. Written by Henson as a letter from a father to his son during a period of military deployment, the song was nearly withheld due to its emotional weight. Since its release, it has become one of the band’s most affecting performances. “It has elicited quite an emotional response from the audience every time,” Henson said, recalling a performance in Philadelphia during which he connected with his son by telephone from the stage.

By gathering tracks from rare or out-of-print releases alongside unheard material, On and On offers both a record of the band’s recent past and a summation of its concerns. For longtime listeners and new audiences alike, the collection stands as a unified body of work closing one era as NOi!SE prepares for the next, which is coming faster than you can think.
