Death Lens have issued their latest single, “Drown,” offering an urgent preview of their forthcoming album What’s Left Now?, due April 24 via Epitaph Records.
The track finds the quartet sharpening their distinctive blend of indie rock, hardcore, old-school punk, and modern post-punk into a sound both forceful and deliberate. Produced by Zach Tuch — known for his work with Knocked Loose, Touché Amoré, and Movements — the recording captures the riotous energy of the band’s live performances while expanding its dynamic range to reveal new depth and nuance.

What’s Left Now? follows 2024’s Cold World and marks the band’s second release for Epitaph. Described as their most fully realized effort to date, the album balances crunch and urgency with streaks of melancholy and unrestrained intensity, built for both catharsis and celebration.
The record arrives after two turbulent years for Death Lens. Following nine months of extensive touring behind Cold World, internal pressures led to lineup changes. The band ultimately emerged revitalized, adding guitarist Ernie Gutierrez to the core of frontman Bryan Torres, guitarist Jhon Reyes, and drummer Tony Rangel. The current formation, the group asserts, stands closer and more unified than ever.
Torres has characterized the band’s trajectory as one of expansion through adversity. Raised in working-class communities east of Los Angeles, the members of Death Lens have long written music for those who feel unheard, grounding their message in resilience and lived experience.
The new album reflects both personal and collective struggle. Songs such as “Am I A Drug To You?” examine the sting of first heartbreak, while “Out of My Skin” explores the uneasy process of self-acceptance. Elsewhere, tracks confront more sobering realities, including the anxieties surrounding immigration enforcement that affect families in their own neighborhoods.
With What’s Left Now?, Death Lens present a record that pairs fist-pumping escape with unvarnished truth — a testament to a band forged in hardship and determined to endure.
