Singer and guitarist Jared Petteys, long known for his blistering fretwork and high-voltage stage presence, has released a new blues rock recording titled “Pass The Bottle,” marking the start of a new chapter in his musical career. The song became available worldwide on January 30, reaching all major phonograph and streaming services.
After years leading the outfit Jared Petteys & The Headliners, the Charleston-based musician now steps forward under his own name. The new endeavor blends the raw foundations of blues with the drive of punk, the swing of rockabilly, and the force of modern rock, resulting in a sound both rooted and restless.

“Pass The Bottle” showcases Petteys’ knack for vivid storytelling and muscular melody. The recording features Russell Lee on drums and Jeff Moon on bass, with the final mix handled by Eric Rickert and mastering completed by Michael White. A motion picture accompaniment to the song was released the same day on YouTube.
Petteys has earned a reputation as a tireless performer and accomplished guitarist, recognized as a Gretsch Guitars Spotlight Artist. Over the years, he has shared stages with noted figures including Reverend Horton Heat, Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats, Southern Culture on the Skids, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Beyond the bandstand, Petteys’ story extends well beyond music. A two-time combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is also a father of three and the founder of Retro Sonic Records, an independent label overseeing promotion, booking, and production. His songwriting has garnered international notice, earning him finalist status in the Rockabilly Rumble Songwriting Contest, as well as multiple nominations from the Charleston City Paper.
“Pass The Bottle” serves as the first in a planned series of monthly single releases, all leading toward a full-length long-playing record. With this release, Petteys signals an ambitious new phase defined by independence, experience, and unapologetic volume.
